The cleanup of the largest obsolete pesticide storage site in the Minsk region, which once contained over 300 tons of hazardous waste, is approaching completion.
A film crew from Slutsk News visited the facility of OAO “Slutsk Agroservice”, where the work is being carried out as part of the UNDP/GEF international project “Sustainable Management of Persistent Organic Pollutants and Chemicals in the Republic of Belarus.”
In an interview with local television, Yury Kulik, project consultant for supervision and coordination of pesticide management activities, and Sergey Tsybulko, head of the Slutsk District Environmental Inspectorate, shared details about the progress of the operation. They emphasized the importance of safely eliminating obsolete pesticides and ensuring long-term environmental protection for nearby communities.
