WAREHOUSES IN THE VITEBSK AND GRODNO REGIONS WERE CLEARED OF OBSOLETE PESTICIDES

In the framework of the Project activities, hazardous waste (obsolete pesticides, including those containing persistent organic pollutants) is transported from Belarus to Germany for environmentally sound elimination at specialised facilities. 

On 26 April 2023, the last vehicle with obsolete pesticides of the Vitebsk region was loaded and transported from the warehouse near the village of Dernovichi of the Polotsk district. Thus, the Project of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus completed the removal of about 920 tonnes of obsolete pesticides from all warehouses of the Grodno and Vitebsk regions (a total of 21 warehouses were cleared).





The unloading of the last truck was attended by journalists from television and print media.
