PRELIMINARY LIST OF PARTICIPANTS FOR THE SECOND STAGE IS FORMED

If your organization:

- has decommissioned PCB-containing equipment (converted to waste or in reserve);

- is ready to conclude an agreement with a consolidation center and ensure co-financing of measures for the removal and elimination of PCB-containing equipment in the amount of at least 25% of the total cost of services (in particular, to pay for the services of a consolidation center for the preparation of such waste for its removal),

then your organization can apply for participation in the second stage of the Project activities for the removal and elimination of PCB-containing equipment!

As we informed you earlier, a preliminary list of participants for the second stage of the Project has been formed. The collection of information was carried out with the help of key interested ministries and departments, as well as regional executive committees and Minsk City Executive Committee and territorial bodies of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus.

At the moment, the data obtained are being clarified. The need for such a clarification was also confirmed when discussing the issues of accounting for such waste at an online information seminar, which was held on 24 June at the Republican Centre for State Ecological Expertise and Advanced Training of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus.

We ask the owners to carefully consider the issue of identifying PCB-containing equipment, in order to avoid erroneous accounting in the volume of PCB-containing wastes of capacitors that do not contain PCBs, and, therefore, irrational costs for the disposal of such wastes! We remind you that PCB-containing equipment should include the one that retains the factory marking that corresponds to the annexes to the Rules for the Handling of Equipment and Waste Containing PCBs, approved by the Resolution of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus of 24 June 2008 No. 62, or if the factory marking and technical documentation are not available at all and it is impossible to identify the equipment in this way.

A preliminary list of organizations participating in the second stage of events is available here: LIST.

Please make sure that the data about your organization is contained in the List and they are correct if your organization plans to participate in the second stage of activities for the removal and elimination of PCB-containing equipment.
